Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02081220A1] Disclosed is a register control method for machines (1) processing material strips (2) comprising at least one axis of conveyance (3,4) and at least one processing axis (5, 6, 7, 8) interacting therewith which are driven in a synchronized manner by a respectively associated individual drive mechanism (9), whereby at least one axis (5, 6, 7, 8) thereof follows a chronological control axis function (12) corresponding to a momentary position (13) of a control axis (L), and several register-successive axes (3,4) are corrected according to the scanning of the register marks (14) of the material strip (2) in relation to the control axis function (12). In order to improve upon said method, so that a greater degree of synchronization can be obtained with respect to the axes which are to be corrected, especially when a large number of axes need to be controlled, and at the same time ensuring ease of operation requiring only a small amount of apparatus, a single joint scanning operation is carried out for one group of mutually corresponding register-successive axes (3,4) with regard to register control, whereby a joint correction function (16) can be derived therefrom which is followed by all axes (3,4) of the group (15).
