Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02072667A1] A method for the production of functionalised polyimide polymers is disclosed, whereby a) a solution A of a polyimide polymer for functionalising is dissolved in a solvent for polyimides, either b11) a solution B of an organic modifier with a pH value >/= 7 is produced and b12) the total or portions of solution B are added at or below room temperature to solution A to form a homogeneous reaction mixture, or b2) the modifier is directly added to solution A and homogeneously dissolved to give a homogeneous reaction mixture, c) the homogeneous reaction mixture is heated and d) the polymer solution obtained on cooling is worked up in a known manner. According to the invention, it is possible using said method to produce covalently-functionalised polyimide polymers with a variable, yet freely adjustable content of differing functional groups and to achieve a distribution of the functional groups along the polymer chain which is as uniform as possible. Said polymers are particularly suitable for the production of membranes.
