[origin: WO02075073A1] A modular balustrade comprises at least one pair of fixed vertical uprights (1) and a removable guardrail (2) which are connected together by concealable fastening means (3) located between them. The fastening means (3) comprise at least one insert (3a) which can be fastened to an upright (1) and a guide (3b) which is integral with the guardrail (2) and shaped so as to match the insert (3a) such as to ensure that even only one insert (3a) allows, during assembly and disassembly, solely relative sliding of upright (1) and guardrail (2) in the direction in which the balustrade (10) extends.
