[origin: WO02077445A1] The invention relates to a fuel-injection valve for internal combustion engines comprising a valve body (1), in a bore (3) of which, a piston-shaped valve member (5) can be longitudinally displaced. At least one section of the length of the valve member (5) is surrounded by a pressure chamber (7) that can be filled with fuel. A valve seat (18) is configured in the bore (3) at the combustion chamber end. In a closed position, the valve member (5) comes to rest on a valve sealing surface (26), in such a way that the pressure chamber (7) is separated from at least one injection opening (20) that lies downstream of the valve sealing surface (26). A first annular groove (30) and a second annular groove (32) lying parallel to the first and axially facing the valve seat (18) are configured in the end region of the valve member (5), the valve sealing surface (26) being located between the two annular grooves (30; 32).
