Abstract (en)

[origin: US2004069066A1] A method for ultrasound measurement of the layer thickness of thin-walled tubes includes utilizing a high-frequency probe (more than 40 MHz) with a coupling area having a planar area surface. The area surface is coupled to the tube surface that is wetted with a coupling agent by way of a contact method. The inventive method is used for duplex or liner layers of 0.15 mm thickness of reactor fuel cladding tubes.
