[origin: FR2822539A1] Position or displacement sensor comprises a detection circuit and a slider or cursor (2), with the cursor mounted so that it is mobile with respect to the detection circuit. The cursor has a support (20) and an influencing element (21). The support has no influence on the circuit while the influencing element interacts with the circuit such that its output is proportional to the position of the influencing element. The influencing element comprises conducting particles embedded in a dielectric support. Typically the support is of a thermoplastic polymer and the embedded particles are a metal or alloy. The detection circuit generates a magnetic field that is affected by the influencing element.
