[origin: EP1375795A2] A lock for a furniture door has an elliptical cross section to fit into a compact space at the edge of the door. The lock body has flattened two opposite flattened edges as does the socket. The lock barrel has an extension with a stepped profile which locates into a stepped recess in the lock socket, which is fitted into the door frame. The inside edge of the socket has a locking edge provided by an insert stud.
