Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02084080A1] A steam power plant provided with a retrofit kit comprises a steam generator (1) equipped with a superheater, has a steam turbo set including condensation systems (11), and comprises connecting pipes, auxiliary devices and a generator (10). The steam power plant (22) is characterized in that the retrofit kit has a retrofit turbine module (25), which is designed for increased temperature and for unmodified or modified pressure and which is connected upstream from the existing steam turbo set or is exchanged for the high-pressure turbine thereof. The invention also relates to a method for retrofitting an existing steam power plant involving the following steps: connecting a retrofit turbine module (25) for high operating temperatures and unmodified or modified operating pressure upstream from the existing turbo set or exchanging the existing high-pressure for the retrofit turbine module (25); providing a steam generator (1) and/or a superheater (32) for a high live steam temperature. This results in improving the efficiency and serviceable life of an existing steam power plant. A cost-effective solution for increasing output is provided while retaining as many original parts of the steam power plant as possible. In addition, the general infrastructure can be retained to such an extent that it remains economical and environmentally acceptable.
