Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1378596A1] The tubular area (21,21';23,23') is produced on one needle bed while a proportion of the needles holds stitches of the base structure (20,20') without knitting. The remaining needles form knitted rows for the production of the tubular area in accordance with the required periphery. In a final row of the tubular section, the needles holding the stitches of the base structure will resume stitch formation. As a result, the free ends of the tubular section are connected to the base structure.
