[origin: EP1247566A1] Rapid thermal stimulation of a chemical reaction in a solution in a supercritical fluid state during the reaction involves heating a fluid to a fluid temperature above the reaction temperature, and mixing the fluid with at least one reaction partner (3, 4) which is at a pre-reaction temperature below the reaction temperature. The reaction partner is brought to the reaction temperature during a period which is shorter than the half-life of the reaction at the reaction temperature. The composition of the fluid is determined so that the fluid is stable at the fluid temperature and does not decompose.
