Abstract (en)
[origin: WO02084106A1] The invention relates to a valve for controlling liquids comprising an, in particular, piezoelectric actuator unit (20) for actuating a valve element. Said valve comprises at least one setting plunger (19) and at least one actuating plunger (16) that is guided inside a valve body (15). Said actuating plunger actuates a valve closing element, which interacts with at least one valve seat (24) provided on the valve body (15). In a closed position, a suction and spill port (14) is cut off from a drain space (25) from which a return duct (26) branches off. A hydraulic chamber (18) is located between the setting plunger (19) and the actuating plunger (16) and is provided for transferring the motion of the setting plunger (19) to the actuating plunger (16). In order to keep the size of the actuator unit (20) small, the actuating plunger (16) is mounted in a manner that is, in essence, hydraulically force balanced when the valve closing element is closed.
