Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02093600A1] The invention relates to a load selector for tapped transformers used for the uninterrupted switching over between tappings of a regulating winding of a tapped transformer. The load selector comprises a cylinder, which is made of an insulating material and which serves as a housing, and comprises fixed tapping contacts (1, 2) that are electrically connected to the tappings. A rotatable operating shaft is located inside said cylinder and has contact carriers (4) that can also rotate. Each of the contact carriers (4) comprises at least one mechanical main contact (5) and at least one mechanical transition contact (6) that is provided with an interconnected transition resistor (7). The main contact (5) and the transition contact (6) are electrically connected and can each be contacted by the fixed tapping contacts (1, 2). Both the main contact (5) as well as the transition contact (6) have at least one parallel accessory contact (8, 9), whereby a thyristor circuit (10, 11) composed of antiparallelly connected thyristors is connected in incoming circuit to these accessory contacts (8, 9). The main contact (5) comprises another parallel accessory contact (12), which is connected to the link between the accessory contact (8) and the thyristor circuit (10).
