[origin: WO02083035A2] An acetabular system contains a hemispherical acetabular implant (2) and at least one spacer (20, 20', 20"). At least one groove originates from the edge (8) of the acetabular implant (2) while running inside the wall (10) of the acetabular implant (2) in a manner that is transversal to the edge (8) and can be accessed from the exterior (4) of the acetabular implant (2). The spacer (20, 20', 20") comprises a projection (22) that fits inside the groove. The exterior of the spacer in the area of the projection (22) is adapted to the outer contour of the acetabular implant (2) in the area of the groove.
