Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02088015A1] The invention relates to a method for reducing polygon effects occurring during deviation of a chain used for a passenger conveyor system, particularly an escalator or a moving pathway. By driving the rotational speed of the deviator wheel which affects the deviator wheel in an indirect or direct manner, a different rotational speed is superimposed, and position-dependent control of speed occurs accordingly whereby variations in speed arising at a substantially constant rotational frequency on the chain wheel are determined and compensation is carried out, enabling the deviator wheel to be driven at an unequal rotational frequency.
