[origin: WO02089110A1] Disclosed is a silencer which can operate without the use of a porous or fibrous material, but which has the same wideband effect as traditional silencers at the same construction depth. The inventive silencer is entirely made of thin microperforated surface structures and is characterized technologically by smooth, almost closed surfaces, light weight, low sensitivity with regard to shocks and temperature stress, in addition to cleanability and high flexibility when used in motors and machines.
