[origin: EP1382266A2] The protective device, particularly for foot, lower limb, knee or elbow or hand comprises a closure body (1), a holding surface, an adhesive connection (7) between the closure body and the holding surface and an easily releasable connection between the protective device and the user. At least the closing part of the closure body is principally of wood. The closing part of the closure body is of a hard, very tough, elastic and little prone to splitting wood type, with an average density of more than or equal to 0.75 g x cm3. It has a curved, lens-type surface, preferably an edge-side curvature with reducing bending radius to the edge.
