[origin: EP1382758A2] The urinal (1) has a membrane valve (5) at the outflow opening (13). In one position, the valve covers the outflow opening with a gas- and fluid-tight sealing action and, in a second setting, the valve is opened to allow urine to flow away. A flushing system is operated manually or by remote control, to deliver flushing water at time intervals through a distributor (9) at the urinal basin (12).
