[origin: EP1382926A1] The device has two parallel coolant channels, ribs between the channels exposed to air and at least one collection chamber. The evaporator is a block and its end area is the product of the height and breadth of the block. The flow channels are essentially horizontal and the collection chamber(s) are arranged for vertical flow. The ratio of width to height is greater than or equal to 2.5, preferably 3.5, and less than or equal to 6, preferably 5.
