[origin: WO02090229A2] The invention relates to a device and a method for the input and storage of banknotes, whereby checked banknotes are temporarily stored in a stacking device, individually or as a bundle. According to the invention, a secure transport of the banknotes from a stacked position to the end cashpoint is possible, whereby the temporarily stored banknotes are placed on a support surface by the stack and said surface itself is transported to a position by the end cashpoint, such that the banknotes may be placed in the end cashpoint in this position.
