[origin: WO02094704A1] The invention relates to a device for screwing a screw-type closure onto a container. Said device comprises a magnetic coupling located between a drivable spindle and the closing head. According to the invention, an inductive detector is provided in the peripheral area of the permanent magnets, which are joined to the closing head, whereby detecting the state of motion of the permanent magnets. This enables, in the most simple possible manner, the rotational speed of the closing head to be monitored, and faults such as an incorrect container clamping, a defective closing cone or a defective thread to be reliably determined.
