[origin: WO02093289A2] A system and method is disclosed to enable wireless device (100) to discover mobile web services by accessing UDDI registry (170) via wireless network (116) using manual and programmed instructions. User profiles stored in wireless device (100) provide shortcuts for online or offline queries. UDDI registry (170) may also be equipped with executable content to provide additional services for device (100). Alternately, server (140) is provided to execute additional programmed instructions to query UDDI registry (170) in response to commands from device (100). Server (140) can be used to cache files accessed from web sites (160), for selective forwarding to the wireless device (100).
