[origin: WO02073010A2] The invention relates to an exhaust manifold, which is provided for mounting on a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and which has a number of exhaust gas boreholes so that exhaust gas can exit. The exhaust manifold has the following features: an exhaust gas collecting housing for receiving exhaust gas from the cylinder head; a gas supply channel that is arranged inside said exhaust gas collecting housing; an air gap is located between the exhaust gas collecting housing and the gas supply channel; a sealing device that is arranged between the exhaust gas collecting housing and the cylinder head; the exhaust gas collecting housing has recesses via which it can be joined to the cylinder head by using fastening means; the gas supply channel's side that faces the cylinder head is provided with a collar, which almost entirely encircles the periphery of the gas supply channel and which is at least indirectly wedged between the exhaust gas collecting housing and the sealing device or the cylinder head; the exhaust gas collecting housing or a hold-down element, which is optionally arranged between the exhaust gas collecting housing and the sealing device, comprises an encircling setback inside of which the encircling collar of the gas supply channel is guided whereby making movements caused by thermal effect possible between the gas supply channel and the sealing device and/or between the gas supply channel and the exhaust gas housing.
