Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1389534A2] Printer with a cutting device for paper webs has a print head (1) with a cutting wheel (5) that is moved by a carriage (2) perpendicular to the web. The cutting device comprises a slider which causes the cutting wheel to be lowered into an operating position when the carriage hits a limiting stop. The wheel remains lowered until cutting finishes. The counter cutter to the wheel is a blade (11) that is supported in the print support (4) and forms a cutting trough (20). A sprung rail (12) holds the paper web in position during cutting.
