[origin: FR2824131A1] The loading system (1) for delivering a projectile (7) to the barrel (2) of an artillery piece, comprising a thrust cylinder (12) with a rod to propel a sliding carriage (10) relative to a slideway (11), has a cradle (5) to receive the projectile and support it as it is advanced into the gun barrel. The thrust cylinder is a two-way power cylinder, with the drive force delivered by the extension of its rod, and it is fed with pressure fluid from an accumulator with a cylindrical bore divided by a free piston into two chambers, one containing the fluid and another a gas.
