Abstract (en)

The flow improver for fuel oil comprising the vinylic polymer (A) containing hexane-insolubles in an amount of at least 60% by weight at -20 DEG C and at most 30% by weight at +10 DEG C, according to the invention, as compared with the conventional flow improvers, improve the low temperature fluidity characteristics of fuel oils more remarkably, lowering the CFPP (cold filter plugging point) and PP (pour point) at lower levels of addition. Moreover, the filterability is little affected and substantially no filter plugging occurs at room temperature. <??>Particularly, these are more effective.for low-sulfur diesel fuels with a narrow boiling point range whose low temperature fluidity could hardly be improved with the conventional flow improvers.
