The sectional door has a panel composed of several components (1,2), of which facing longitudinal edges (3,4) are alternately concave and complementarily convex. The longitudinal edges have hinges (5) which connect the door panel components in the area of their rear side (7). The hinges between the fixture areas of their legs (8,9) are bent away out of the plane of the rear side of the door panel. The concave and convex parts of the longitudinal edges extend into the plane of the rear side of the door panel. The axis (6) of the hinge is located in the area of the rear side of the door panel. The bend or the arc (10) of the hinge is located in one of the two legs between the hinge pivot axis and the fixture area of the leg.
