Abstract (en)
Coin selection device and method comprising a path (4) followed by a coin (5) between an inlet opening and one or more outlet openings, a first set of sensors (2, 2', 2"), a second set of sensors (3), with said first and second sets of sensors placed along said path. For each instant in time the first set of sensors provides a first set of data relating to a position of the aforementioned coin with respect to the second set of sensors, while the second set of sensors provides a second set of data relating to one or more characteristic properties of the coin. <IMAGE>
