Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02092246A1] The invention relates to a device for reproducing images of at least the surfaces of square objects (2,3) which are individually and successively displaced in front of at least one camera (4,7), on a transport strip (1), said surfaces being respectively in front and/or behind in the direction of displacement, and being approximately perpendicular in relation to the transport plane and transversal in relation to the transport direction. Each camera (4,7) placed above or beside the objects comprises an optoelectronic line sensor and a zoom lens (5,8) provided with a rapid zoom regulation drive and an autofocussing system. The regulation drive of the zoom lens (5,8) can be controlled in such a way that the image of the surface to be reproduced is reproduced in each line with essentially the same lateral amplification, taking into account the position of the square object (2,3), the transport speed and the angle of the optical path of the camera in relation to the surface whose image is to be reproduced. Once the corresponding scanning process has come to an end, the zoom lens (5,8) is returned to its respective initial position.
