A hydrocyclone separator (1) comprises a number of single hydrocyclones (4) for removing solid materials or liquids from liquids, especially for removing oil from an oil-water-sand mixture produced during offshore oil recovery, an inlet opening (3) for the oil-water-sand mixture, and an outlet opening (9) for the oil. Bei einem mehrere Kammern aufweisenden Hydrozyklonseparator mit einer Vielzahl einzelner Hydrozyklone zum Abscheiden von festen Stoffen oder von Flüssigkeiten aus Flüssigkeiten, insbesondere zum Abscheiden von Öl aus einem Öl-Wasser-Sand-Gemisch, wie es bei der Ölgewinnung im Off-Shore-Bereich anfällt, weist der Hydrozyklonseparator eine Eintrittsöffnung für das Öl-Wasser-Sand-Gemisch, eine Austrittsöffnung für das den Sand mitführende Wasser und eine Austrittsöffnung für das Öl auf. Hierbei sind die Oberflächen der einzelnen Hydrozyklone mit einer Schicht aus einem hochgleitfähigen und hochverschleißfesten Kunststoff versehen. <IMAGE>
