[origin: EP1393857A1] The guide device has two guide elements (6) spaced from each other by at least one spacer element (5), and a holder (7) for positioning the workpiece (2) between the two guide elements so that the workpiece can be guided contactlessly in the polishing container (4). Independent claim describes method for polishing especially rotationally asymmetrical workpieces which are guided contactlessly in the polishing container whereby polishing is carried out in a vibration polishing process using polishing elements.
