Abstract (en)
A sizing arrangement comprises two successive troughs (2, 3) that can be operated in two alternative modes by the operation of valves (4), the first trough being either filled with water or with size. When both troughs are filled with size they operate in counterflow to the material (K). In the other mode the liquids have their own circulation system with heating arrangements (18). An Independent claim is also included for the process of sizing fabrics or yarns with an initial treatment which can be either a water or a size bath. The two troughs can be arranged in a single vessel (15) with a partition (16). The levels are arranged that there is no overflow from the second size trough when the first trough is filled with water. The plant includes level sensors (17a, 17b) to control the two methods of operation and adjustment for the depth of the immersion roller (13).

Eine Vorrichtung zum Schlichten von bahn- oder fadenförmiger Ware weist einen ersten Trog (2) zur Aufnahme einer Flüssigkeit und einen zweiten Trog (3) zur Aufnahme einer Flüssigkeit auf. Die zu behandelnde Ware wird nacheinander zuerst durch den ersten Trog (2) und dann durch den zweiten Trog (3) geführt. Im zweiten Trog (3) ist Schlichte enthalten. Im ersten Trog (2) ist wahlweise Schlichte oder Wasser enthalten. <IMAGE>
