Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02094747A1] At least one isoparaffin with 4-6 carbon atoms per molecule is reacted in the presence of a catalyst with at least one olefin with 2-6 atoms per molecule in a liquid phase to form an alkylate. The isoparaffin and a suspension containing a particulate zeolite catalyst are fed to the upper area of a reaction column. An isoparaffin-olefin mixture is introducted into the reaction column below the feed point of the catalyst-containing suspension, the temperatures in the reaction column being maintained at 50 - 120 DEG C. An alkylate-containing product mixture is extracted from the bottom area of the reaction column and an alkylate product is obtained therefrom by means of distillatory separation. Preferably, isoparaffin and a catalyst can be recovered from the distallatory separation and be at least partially returned to the upper area of the reaction column.
