[origin: WO02095217A1] The invention relates to an injector for the injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. The injector (1) comprises an injector housing (2) in which a pressure chamber (3) enclosing an insert (7) is embodied. The above may be filled with high pressure fuel by means of a high pressure inlet (21). A control chamber (25) is pressurised by means of the pressure chamber (3), defined by the insert (7), fixed in a drilling (6, 46) in the injector housing (2) and a valve component (26). The valve component (26) may be displaced by executing a stroke displacement (47) within the insert (7). A one-piece metallic sealing element (9) is arranged with a friction fit (14) around the periphery (8) of the insert (7). The sealing element (9) is pressurised with the high pressure in the pressure chamber (3).
