Ein Bohrer (1) weist einen Bohrkopf (4) auf, an dessen beim Betrieb dem Werkstück zugewandter Stirnseite (5) Hauptschneiden (9) angeordnet sind, die im wesentlichen in einer quer zur axialen Richtung des Bohrers stehenden Querebene (10) verlaufen und beim Betrieb am momentanen Bohrungsboden spanabhebend angreifen.
