[origin: EP1396462A2] The lifting device has a rigid cross-beam (1) and two tension rods (3a,3b), coupled together at their upper ends and to the opposite ends of the cross-beam at their lower ends, for providing a triangular linkage. The ends of the cross-beam are provided with angled guide sleeves (5a,5b), their longitudinal axes intersecting at a point below the cross-beam, in line with its center and which fit into angled bores (15) drilled in the top face of the timber product (14), the fixing pins (6a,6b) received by the guide sleeves having a releasable locking mechanism (23a,23b) for preventing movement relative to the guide sleeve in the longitudinal direction, coupled to a warning device providing an optical and/or acoustic alarm when the locking mechanism is not activated.
