[origin: EP1396463A2] The transportable portal crane has a cross beam mounted on supports and a load suspension traveller movable on the cross beam. The cross beam is a double- T section beam detachably fastened to the supports via clamp holders (11), with the lower member (3) of the beam's profile having a smaller width and greater thickness than its upper member (4). Several spaced apart openings are provided in the web (5) between the upper and lower members. The clamp holder has clamping sleeve (17) rotatable by a clamping lever (18).
