[origin: EP1397963A1] The feed roller (1) for cut tobacco has angled pins (2) extending from its periphery (10) to receive tobacco from a feed (5). The roller has successive areas (Z1-3) extending axially with different pin arrangements. The pins can have different spacings in different sections of the roller. Alternatively, the angle of the pins can vary. Claims include an impact roller and a tobacco comminuter using the claimed construction, and use of the feed roller.
