[origin: EP1398115A2] A clamping device for clamping work pieces; the clamping device comprises a box-shaped body (10), a clamping member (11,35), and a manually operable control lever (14); first and second toggle-lever system (16,17) and an intermediate guide member (18) are provided to connect the control lever (14) to the clamping member (11; 35) of the device. The first and the second toggle-lever systems (16,17) are constructed and arranged to act in correlation, in such a way that in the clamping condition of the device, the pivotal axes (15,22) and the intermediate hinge axis (20) of the second toggle-lever system (16), in the advanced condition of the clamping member (11, 35) are arranged on reference lines (A, B) forming a small angle against a stop (31).
[origin: EP1398115A2] Two toggle-lever systems and an intermediate guide element which connect manual control lever (14) to a clamping arm (11). Both systems act in correlation in such a way that in clamping condition, the pivotal axes and intermediate hinge axis of one toggle-lever system are arranged on reference lines forming a small angle against a stop in the advance condition of clamping arm. The clamping arm is pivoted at one side (12) of a box-shaped body (10), and operatively connected to a linear actuator (13) and the manual control lever in the box-shaped body.
