Abstract (en)
A buoyancy can (12) attached to the upper portion of a riser (22) has a predetermined complaint dynamic radial response to environmental forces. A stem (14) attached to the can receives the riser inside the stem. Slip rings (16) attached along the stem closely receive the stem, and allow vertical movement of the stem and the riser.
