Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1398447A2] The drive unit has a gearbox housing containing a gearbox and a geared motor with its output shaft connected to a gearbox drive element and attachment devices for alternative connection of the motor to the housing and hence of the output shaft to the drive element. One attachment element points in the same direction as the other did prior to rotation if the housing is rotated through 180 degrees about an axis perpendicular to the output shaft. The drive unit (1) has a gearbox housing (2) containing a gearbox and a geared motor (3) with its output shaft (6) connected to a gearbox drive element, at least two attachment devices (4,10) on the housing for alternative connection of the motor to the housing and hence for connecting the output shaft to the drive element. One attachment element points in the same direction as the other did prior to rotation if the housing is rotated through 180 degrees about an axis perpendicular to the output shaft.
