Printer, especially a journal or voucher printer has an interface via which it receives data to be printed. At least a part of the received data comprises a signature and at least the signature is sent back over the interface. The invention also relates to a corresponding filter module for use with a printer, with the filter connected to the printer input and having an exchangeable cryptographic unit, e.g. a chip card.

Drucker, insbesondere Belegdrucker, welcher über eine Schnittstelle auszudruckende Daten empfängt und daraufhin eine kryptographisch gesicherte Signatur dieser Daten zurücksendet. Die Signatur umfasst vorzugsweise eine Laufnummer oder einen Zeitstempel, die zusammen mit der Signatur gebildet werden. <IMAGE>
