[origin: DE10127820A1] The device has a prefilter unit, a cyclone prefilter, (30), a fine prefilter (32), and a valve unit. Spiral sections (48) of varying radial depth of flow path are fitted into a housing section for the cyclone prefilter. All parts are enclosed by a housing semi-shell, and this, together with the outside of the cylinder head cover, forms a housing for the oil separator unit. The semi-shell is a plastic part, esp. an injection-molded plastic part.
