[origin: WO03003201A2] The invention relates to a method for transmitting software modules for target devices located on a mobile device, preferably of a means of transport. Information is stored on a mobile storage device, on CDs for example, regarding which software modules are released for which types of target devices situated on the mobile devices. Said information is compared with the mobile device configuration before transmission. The method thus provides higher process security. Said method can be used for transmission both with and without the existence of a connection between the mobile device and a central configuration management system or documentation system.
