Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03004394A2] The invention relates to an elevator hoistway door, which is characterized in that one door leaf (2, 3) is composed of one front and one rear wall (4, 5) each that are linked with each other by thermally releasable connecting means (6). At least a part of the closing edge of the respective door leaf (2, 3) consists of a profile (7, 8, 14) configured by the rear wall (5) or by a profile that is fastened on said rear wall (5) so as not to be released by the effect of heat. In the event of a fire, the thermally releasable connecting means (6) are released so that the rear wall (5) is detached from the front wall (4), and the front wall bends by the action of heat while the rear wall (5) comprising the closing edge maintains its original shape.
