[origin: WO03002446A1] Said cable brake permits reduced wear of the brake pads (6, 7) and brake cable (17) and thus a longer working life, whereby both brake pads (6, 7) are made from differing materials. In a preferred embodiment, one brake pad (6, 7) is made from alubronze and the other brake pad (6, 7) is made from nodular graphite iron or grey cast iron. In further embodiments, a brake pad or both brake pads (6, 7) are made from a ceramic-containing material.
