There are also two type of supporting guys. A first set of guys (16) is distributed around the shaft, each extending from the top of the shaft or close to the top to the ground where it is anchored. These provide a bracing function. At least one further set of guys (17,18,19) is distributed around the shaft. These link horizontal sections to the shaft, thus providing support for lengths of the shaft. Both types of guy are nearly vertical, at least between the top of the shaft and the lowest horizontal element (A1) closest to the ground.
