[origin: FR2826212A1] Method of loading a cryptographic key, associated with a transaction application, into a subscribers SIM identification card or module (18) in a mobile equipment (36,38). Includes a stage to detect the absence of the key or a need to activate the key in the SIM card. Then a stage to load the key in a secure way during a communication session for the mobile unit on the telecommunication network. The key detection stage is done by analysis of at least cryptographic certificate or SIM card identification request for a telecommunication session effected in the subscribers identify module SIM card and in a server connected to a key server. The tele- loading stages comprise, encrypt the key provided by the key server using a transmission key; transmit the encrypted key to the subscribers SIM identification card; decrypt in the SIM card the key using the transmission key, and; record the decrypted key in the SIM card. Independent claims are also included for the following; (1) Subscribers SIM card; (2) key server, (3) service provider server.
