[origin: EP1403408A1] False selvedge forming device in textile looms comprises a pair of arrays of heddles for moving warp yarns, connected by respective transmission mechanisms to a drive shaft for a reciprocating movement. The transmission mechanisms are in the form of a pair of bundles of cords connected on one hand to the upper ends of the heddles, and converging on the other hand towards two opposite points of a rotating member fixed to the drive shaft. False selvedge forming device in textile looms comprises a drive shaft to perform an alternating rotational movement and a pair of arrays of heddles (9) for moving warp yarns, connected by respective transmission mechanisms to the drive shaft for a reciprocating movement. The transmission mechanisms are in the form of a pair of bundles of cords (6) connected on one hand to the upper ends of the heddles, and converging on the other hand towards two opposite points of a rotating member (2) fixed to the drive shaft. The bottom ends of the heddles are retained by tensioning mechanisms.
