Abstract (en)
The device has two electrodes (16, 20) and a fluorescent body (28) disposed in contact with a substance (14), which serves as an emitter. A polarization of a portion of the substance is reversed or changed to emit electrons from a portion of the electrode (16), when a drive voltage (Va) is applied between the electrodes. The electrons are impinged upon the fluorescent body to emit light.
