[origin: WO03002355A1] The invention relates to a security element that is provided with a first code 40 consisting of a magnetic material and/or a second code 30 consisting of an electrically conductive material, in addition to a third, optically readable code 20, for instance in the form of a negative script and/or bar code, which is in the magnetic and/or electrically conductive code or is preferably produced together with a third neutral material 50, wherein the neutral material is neither electrically conductive nor magnetic. According to the invention, all three materials previously cited cannot be optically distinguished, i.e. viewed with the naked eye, by an observer and thereby appear as a uniform coating made of a single material.
